“In The Highlands”
Scottish landscapes provide some of the most exciting moments in the build up to painting. I think this is because the
drama of the landscape and weather provide me with opportunities to extend the effects of light and shade and allow my imagination
to play a bigger part. The warm colours of the cattle are a perfect foil against the cooler colours of the landscape.

“Farmyard Friends”
Ever popular and a delight to paint animals in a rustic rural setting. The contrast between the chicks, rabbit and gentle
weathered setting create a very homely and timeless image.
I called into a local farm shop to purchase some free range eggs. The chicks were in a pen and having explained my motives
to a very helpful owner I immediately returned with my camera.

“After A Hard Days Play”
This painting shows a shire horse and foal which is taking a well earned rest having spent some time running around playing
and exploring its new environment. The mare is close by to ensure all is well.
