A very important time for a
village during the last century. A hot summer has ripened the wheat an the farm workers have turned out to harvest. The setting
I chose for this painting was just outside the village of Bibury in the Cotswolds. The figures are all genuine people
in period costume.

“A Golden Harvest” A
height of summer image from the last century with a dramatic view across the fields to the Vale of Evesham in the Cotswolds,
with wonderful colours. Farm workers in the fields bringing in the harvest and feed the country. The sheaths are formed into
“stooks” to speed up drying. This is a very decorative and uplifting picture which also provides a window into
